LCDR Atatoum Babate

Lieutenant Commander Atatoum Babate is the commander of the Togo Navy, having taken this position in October 2016. Having begun his military career with a bachelor’s diploma in sciences from the cadet military school of Tchitchao in Kara, LCDR Babate continued his education with a diploma in economy and management studies from the University of Lome in 1996 before undertaking his naval studies diploma at the naval academy in Brest, France. LCDR Babate has held a number of positions in the Togo Navy, including the executive officer of patrol boats, communications officer and serving as a member of the peacekeeping mission in Cote d’Ivoire. A decorated officer with many professional training courses to his name, LCDR Babate is the father of six children and will be choosing to make his presentation in French.
